Liverpool boss Klopp: I'm better coach than I was a player

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits he's a better coach than he was a player.

He's the first to say it's no surprise that his time in charge of players as been more successful than when he was one over 337 appearances for Mainz 05.

"When you are a second division player in Germany, you don't earn enough money and that's how it is," he said during his guest appearance on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.

"I'm not the smartest guy in the world but not too silly so I could have had a decent career in something else, but I don't know what.

"I started all that stuff but I loved the game too much and I always wanted to be a part of it. I knew if someone wanted to give me an opportunity to coach a team, it would be better than playing in a team."
