Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has sounded out Schalke about Max Meyer's situation.
While he oversees the completion of Gini Wijnaldum's transfer from Newcastle United this morning, BILD says Klopp has also asked after Meyer.
Klopp is close to Schalke football chief Christian Heidel, thanks to their time together at Mainz, and has registered his interest with him for Meyer.
It's suggested Liverpool are willing to offer €33.5 million for the 20 year-old.
Asked about the situation last night, Meyer's agent, Thorsten Weck said: "I would like to not comment."
