Liverpool boss Hodgson praises Agger in Bolton win

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson was pleased with Dan Agger's performance in victory over Bolton Wanderers.

The Danish defender continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield.

But Hodgson told liverpoolfc.tv: "He played well and I'm sure he's more than satisfied with his own performance. It was a good day all round for him.

"He hasn't been fit for the last couple of months but he's trained with the first team for 10 days and he's worked hard in those 10 days to get himself up to match fitness.

"I was a bit concerned that 90 minutes would be too much for him after such a long lay-off and he actually did very well to last 85 minutes.

"I wanted to rest Soto Kyrgiakos because he's played a lot of games and is tired."
