Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson remains keen on FC Twente winger Bryan Ruiz.
The goal scoring attacking midfielder was tracked by Hodgson while he was with Fulham and he has maintained his interest.
Wolfsburg boss Steve McClaren is also keen, but Liverpool's interest and a £10.6m price tag have put off the German club.
Ruiz, in August, admitted to being flattered by talk of a move to Anfield.
