Liverpool are chasing Sampdoria fullback Reto Ziegler.
The Switzerland international is entering the final 12 months of his current deal and is well known to new Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson.
Sky Italia says Hodgson is ready to make an offer for Ziegler, who is a former Tottenham player.
