Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson admits being a big fan of Bolton Wanderers striker Johan Elmander.
The Reds face Bolton today.
"I tried to sign Elmander two years ago when I was at Fulham but it wasn't possible because he chose Bolton instead," Hodgson told liverpoolfc.tv.
"At one stage it looked like he had not made a good decision because he wasn't getting a regular game at Bolton, but since Owen Coyle came to the club he has stamped his mark on the team and is playing well.
