Liverpool boss Hodgson counting on Torres, Gerrard for Fulham clash

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is banking on his two stars being available today.

Hodgson reckons Fernando Torres will guarantee him a happy reunion with former club Fulham today - and Steven Gerrard could also make a shock return.

Kop boss Hodgson said: "All Fernando needs to return to his very best form is a goal. I think he is getting back to those levels. There have been one or two quite good performances and I'm convinced we'll see another against Fulham."

Gerrard has been out with a hamstring tear but has stepped up training. Keeper Pepe Reina, making his 200th Premier appearance, admitted: "It would be a massive lift to have him back."
