Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is closing in on a deal for Fulham fullback Paul Konchesky.
Hodgson was in charge of Konchesky at Craven Cottage and is prepared to pay £3.5million to be reunited with the 29-year-old.
Konchesky has a year left to run on his contract and his future has been the subject of speculation for most of the summer. Birmingham have already had a bid knocked back.
New Cottagers boss Mark Hughes is keen to keep the former Charlton and West Ham player but Konchesky has his heart set on a move to Anfield.
