Jurgen Klopp admitted it was a nice feeling to hand Danny Ings some Liverpool game time on Sunday.
The 23-year-old striker, who joined from Burnley in the summer, made his first appearance since October in the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion having been out of action with a knee injury.
Ings replaced goalscorer Jordon Ibe in the 64th minute and manager Klopp felt it was a nice touch for a player who has worked so hard to get back to fitness.
"It's nice to be part of this and I could give (Ings) the opportunity," said the German.
"It's not that we thought he should come in and score three goals, it was more to give this really nice lad something before the break."
