Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish believes they're on the way to competing with Manchester United.
Dalglish bosses his beloved Liverpool against Manchester United at Anfield tomorrow for the first time in 20 years.
And he said: "We know where we want to go as a club and we do not want to be one that's going to be sixth or seventh or eighth in the league.
"There are five positions between us and United in the league at the moment, it is a gulf. There is a lot of work to be done to get where we need to be.
"But we will do a lot of work on the training pitch and transfer market to get there as quickly as we can.
"We have to push closer. The underbelly of the club is looking as good as it has since I can remember, with the development of the academy. That is going to serve us well for years to come."
