Liverpool boss Dalglish wants new contracts for Gerrard, Carragher

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish feels it's crucial the club extend the contracts of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.

Despite entering their 30s, both Gerrard and teammate Jamie Carragher remain integral parts of the current Liverpool team.

Dalglish claims form and not age will dictate how long this remains the case.

"Both Steven and Carra are people who everybody else can look up to," he said. "Anybody who is an asset to the football club I am sure we will look forward to keeping.

"For me, you judge a player on what they are doing on the pitch. It doesn't matter what their age is."
