Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish wants more from Jordan Henderson after his goal in victory over Bolton Wanderers.
Henderson's goal and performance, after the 21-year-old's big-money move from Sunderland, underlined his potential but again Dalglish turned attention to the squad.
He said: "It is an important statement to make, scoring a goal, but that doesn't mean to say your career is finished (if you don't).
"It will give him encouragement and confidence, but had he not scored it wouldn't have affected us, the way he played.
"Goals are more important to some people than others but for us performances are more important than individual glory."
