Liverpool boss Dalglish unsure if Gerrard can match longevity of Man Utd's Giggs

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is unsure if Steven Gerrard can extend his career like Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs.

Dalglish was asked whether he thought the skipper could follow Giggs in playing until his late 30s.

"You have to wait and see how they get through injuries," responded the Scot.

"Giggs is 38, isn't he? That's seven years down the line - that's a long time. But if he's fit and well, there's no reason why not.

"I've not got a crystal ball. I'm just delighted we've got him here."
