Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish was happy to take a swipe at Sky Sports over the Sian Massey controversy.
Dalglish turned the tables on Sky Sports yesterday as the Liverpool boss revealed he did not even realise there was a female assistant running the line until the second half of Saturday's game at Wolves.
Arriving for his media conference ahead of tomorrow's home game against Fulham, Dalglish noticed a female journalist in the room before sitting down in front of a Sky reporter and asking: "Is it OK for a lady to be here? It doesn't affect Sky, does it?"
When the questioning later turned to the number of Glasgow-born managers in the Barclays Premier League, a grinning Dalglish mocked: "Is that your last question? So you're not even asking me about lady officials?"
On Massey's performance at Wolves, Dalglish added: "In the second half I was watching the game and I said to (coach) Steve Clarke, 'Steve that's a woman over there!'
"I didn't even realise there was a woman running the line. It didn't bother me in any way, shape or form. The fact that we never knew tells you something. And by the way, I never noticed if it was a guy on our side of the pitch either.
"I don't have a problem with the gender of people officiating at a football match. They've got to know the laws of the game, haven't they?"
