Dalglish has been delighted by the No.4's happy knack for getting his name on the scoresheet and admits he was expecting the net to bulge as soon as he saw the former FC Porto man take aim at the Kop end.
"He must have been doing it since he was a kid. It was a great strike. As soon as it fell to him you knew it would hit somewhere around the goal," Dalglish told liverpoolfc.tv.
"He's got great technique. It is superb and it's no surprise he struck it so well. I've not seen him practice it but maybe that's his secret."
