Liverpool boss Dalglish: I wish fantastic Bellamy was 23!

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish was delighted with Craig Bellamy in victory over Wolves.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish was delighted with Craig Bellamy in victory over Wolves.

The Wales international was one of many impressive performers for Liverpool - and Dalglish was keen to emphasise it was a team effort that secured victory for his side.

Dalglish told his post-match press conference: "I thought it was a very professional, high-quality performance from the players.

"It was a fantastic reaction to the two big games they had played previously and commitment in making this game the most important one because it was next up.

"The way they started the game and the way they applied themselves was a great credit to them."

He continued: "We were delighted with everyone that played - and everyone made a contribution. It was great for Andy to score a goal, Craig scored a fantastic goal and Dirk slotted a good team goal away as well.

"For us, there is no 'I' in team. Everyone made a contribution and we were delighted for them."

On the performance of Bellamy, who took his tally for the season so far to nine with his 61st minute strike, Dalglish said: "Craig is fantastic. I wish his numbers were the other way around and instead of 32 he was 23!"
