Liverpool boss Dalglish hails Adam impact

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is delighted with the form of summer signing Charlie Adam.

The Scot was outstanding in victory at Chelsea on Sunday.

"It only endorses what we thought when he came in first," Dalglish said.

"Charlie certainly played well but there is nothing he has been doing which has been a surprise to us here.

"He covered a fair bit of ground to get to John Obi Mikel and won the ball back for us but he won the ball back on many occasions during the game but that one was highlighted more because it got us the (opening) goal.

"His pass for the second goal (by Glen Johnson) was sublime as well.

"He was someone we wanted in January and we never got but we were patient and we got a discount on him this summer.

"I don't think he has been a bad bit of business but I don't think he will sit on his laurels either; he wants to push on onwards and upwards and so do we."
