Liverpool boss Dalglish: Fans support helped turn results around

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish says he's been able to turn things around thanks to the faith of the Kop fans.

Just 10 games after answering the Kop's SOS plea to prevent the Reds' season from disintegrating completely, it seems certain that the 59-year-old Scot will be given the job on a permanent basis by the club's American owners.

Dalglish said: "Someone asked me when I took the job whether I was worried coming back in would have an adverse effect on me if things didn't go well.

"But I don't know how it can be a burden when you have got so many people on your side like I have. I never thought I would fall out of favour with the fans if I came back. I have always thought it would be the opposite.

"If I hadn't taken the job on, then the fans would have had every right to disown me.

"I am here to help this football club.

"If someone asks you to help and you refuse then how is that good for Liverpool? That was my take on it. Listen, I don't know what is going to happen at the end of the season because there has been no conversation about it.

"The football club is more important than me and they will make the decision that is best suited to Liverpool. I don't have a problem. There was no timeline set up. I will go along with the club's decision 100 per cent.

"But I will continue to enjoy it - and if we keep getting good results then I will enjoy it even more."
