Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is set to turn to Villarreal striker Diego Forlan as he seeks to boost his attack for next season.

Real Zaragoza ace Diego Milito is also in his sights, however with brother Gaby on his way to Juventus for £15 million, the Spanish Liga club are under no pressure to sell their top goal scorer.

Benitez hopes to land Forlan for an affordable price, with the two clubs enjoying a strong relationship following deals for the likes of Pepe Reina, Jan Kromkamp and Josemi.

Forlan's buyout clause is set at £16 million.
