Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez believes Manchester United legend Roy Keane can become a great manager at Sunderland.

He said: "I can already say about him that he was a great player and he can be a great manager too.

"What he did last season was amazing - to take Sunderland from the bottom of the table and win promotion to the Premier League. He has already shown he is very good at this role but, in time, he can be something special.

"It is not a good time to be playing Sunderland after they lost 3-0 to Wigan last week. It is clear that for them their home form will be important this season. They will be desperate to do much better in front of their own supporters.

"We must be prepared for another tough game."
