Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is set for crunch talks with Xabi Alonso today over his future.
The Sun says the Spanish midfielder returns to Anfield after a £16m move to Juventus collapsed. Now Alonso is worried he will spend the season in limbo, with no other serious offers on the table.
He fears he will play a bit-part role, especially if the Reds eventually land Aston Villa's Gareth Barry.
