Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez believes his £20 million deal for Tottenham striker Robbie Keane is proof the club's American owners are willing to continue to spend big on the squad.

He told liverpoolfc.tv: "Yes I think so. I think we are trying to improve the squad by buying and selling players. Every year we try to improve the squad and this year we have reduced the gap and we will try to be closer and closer each season."
