Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez was impressed with Jermaine Pennant's positive reaction to being left out of the Champions League showdown with Arsenal.
"I am very happy with Jermaine because he will obviously have been disappointed not to be involved against Arsenal during the week," Benitez told the club's official website.
"It was a very big game and it was also against his former club so I understand that he won't have been happy.
"But instead of complaining, the first thing he did was ask to play for the reserve team. We did not ask him to play, he asked us.
"My coaching staff told me that not only did Jermaine play well against Everton, his attitude was also very good and he was very helpful to the younger players in the team."
