Liverpool boss Benitez: Carragher didn't want to play right-back

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez revealed Jamie Carragher did not want to play at right-back for their defeat at Middlesbrough.

The Times says Martin Skrtel endured a miserable afternoon at right back, where he was tormented by Stewart Downing, but Benitez claimed that Carragher, the former England defender, had been unwilling to deputise, although he has done so before.

"Carragher told me he had heavy legs and so as a centre back he could run less," he said. "At right back you run more."
