Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez believes Fabio Capello is the ideal England manager for his captain, Steven Gerrard.

"Fabio Capello is a great manager and when he takes charge he has the chance to bring the best out of players like Steven Gerrard," said Benitez. "Working with a man of Capello's huge experience can help Gerrard improve. Fabio has experience in different countries and he is a winner so I am sure the players can learn from him.

"And of course that would benefit me in the future if my players improve under Capello. I am sure that working with Gerrard, Capello can help to turn him into a better player."
