Liverpool boss Benitez admits Torres future depends on top four finish
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez admits Fernando Torres' future at Anfield is tied to them qualifying for the Champions League.
Benítez fears Torres will seek to leave Anfield should Liverpool fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.
"Finishing fourth in the Premier League would mean a lot to Fernando," said the Liverpool manager ahead of his side's suddenly all-important home game against Portsmouth tonight.
"People talk about money with Fernando but I can tell you his main motivation is winning trophies. That is what drives him. That is always the main topic in any discussion between us. Fernando's only thought is to be challenging for honours, it's all that concerns him. He wants to be playing in the Champions League."

Torres moved to liverpool to win trophies, we won the champions league, been runners up, won the FA cup and runners up in the league.
We have done so bad this season because of torres and gerrard playing so little games, imagine if rooney was out for the amount of time torres was, did you see what happened when you lost rooney, you out of the champions league and have dropped points in the league to knock you off the top. Considering man u have a 30 million replacement to rooney which is berbatov and we only have ngog, you shouldnt be losing. Anyone who says one person doesntr make a team is wrong in cases, a liverpool without torres is a boring side, torres gives us that spark and brilliance hes more important than gerrard in are team.
