Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez says it was Steven Gerrard's call after he missed last night's Champions League elimination at Chelsea.

Gerrard missed last night's game after complaining of more pain in his groin.

Benitez said: "We thought he'd be OK but he felt something. To lose a player who is so important - credit to the others for doing a fantastic job."
