Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is getting the backing of the club's boot room.

Reds legend Kenny Dalglish told liverpoolfc.tv: "Liverpool can look back and say 'if only we'd won there', but then on the flip side there are games they'll look back on and maybe feel fortunate to have won.

"They've done well this year though and they'll be even better next season because Rafa's had time to identify exactly who he wants this summer."

Dalglish's view is shared by former strike partner Ian Rush.

He said: "Now the management team can sit down and work out the small areas where they went wrong.

"Then next year we'll be going in the right direction to finish first."
