Liverpool have stepped up their pursuit of Sunderland winger Jordan Henderson. The Daily Mail says the Anfield giants increased their initial offer of £13m for Henderson, 20, to £15m yesterday and are hopeful Sunderland will compromise on their asking price of £18m.

Henderson has also been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea.

But Liverpool are the first club to make a serious move for the player.
