Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is battling AS Roma for Valencia midfielder Seydou Keita.
The Daily Star says Keita is eager to return to Champions League football, having not featured in the competition since 2012, when he quit the Nou Camp for Chinese side Dalian Aerbin.
The 34-year-old is out of contract at the Mestalla, and the Spanish club have given up hope of persuading him to renew his deal.
Keita's availability has alerted both the Reds and Italian giants Roma, as they look to add depth to their squads ahead of assaults on Europe next season.
