Liverpool are competing with Inter Milan for Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic.

The Mirror says Liverpool are monitoring Jovetic, but Inter have made the first move by confirming he is on their summer hitlist.

Director Piero Ausilio said: "There are many players who we are evaluating at this moment.

"Jovetic is one of them and I don't know whether Manchester City will put him on the market or not.

"We need to bring in a few players. It's not a question of quantity, but of quality. They must be talented, useful and functional to the project."
