FC Basle are demanding £12 million for Mohamed Salah.
The Daily Express says Liverpool will test Basle's determination to keep winger Salah this week after Brendan Rodgers was given the go ahead by owner John W Henry to launch a bid for the Egypt international.
Basle rate him at around £12million.
Liverpool would want to pay nearer £7m, but following talks with Henry and chairman Tom Werner on Friday Rodgers will put the Swiss side's resolve under the microscope.
