Liverpool are interested in Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo.
Reds boss Roy Hodgson is considering Melo as a direct replacement for want-away defensive midfielder Javier Mascherano.
Melo has also been linked with Arsenal, where manager Arsene Wenger is a confirmed admirer.
Liverpool made enquiries for Melo during talks over Alberto Aquilani's loan move to Juventus.
