Liverpool announce tour of China, Malaysia and South Korea

English Premier League club Liverpool have announced they will travel to East Asia for a pre-season tour this July. One of England's most famous clubs, the Reds will take in China, Malaysia and South Korea during their summer break, backing up the 2009 trip to Thailand and Singapore.

Managing director Ian Ayre admitted the last tour went extremely well and says this one should be no different.

"The last one in 2009 was a real success and we're delighted that we are returning this summer after a break last year due to the World Cup," he said.

"Nothing beats watching the team live and by visiting China, Malaysia and Korea, we are allowing fans from all three countries to experience just that.

"We will work closely with our main sponsor Standard Chartered and our other partners in the region to ensure we can deliver our best ever pre-season tour."

The Liverpool squad will include the likes of captain Steven Gerrard, new signing Luis Suarez, goalkeeper Pepe Reina, Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles, English defenders Jamie Carragher and Glen Johnson and many more and will take on Chinese Super League club Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur and K-League outfit FC Seoul in July.
