Liverpool's hopes of landing Shakhtar Donetsk striker Alex Teixeira have reportedly taken a hit, with the Reds unable to agree on a fee with the Ukrainian outfit.
Sky Sports is reporting the Merseyside club have already had two bids for the 26-year-old turned down by Shakhtar.
It is understood Liverpool's most recent offer of £29million is still well short of Shakhtar's valuation of the player, which is believed to be £38million.
Teixeria is also the subject of interest from the Reds' Premier League rivals Chelsea.
