Liverpool striker Danny Sturridge is confident he and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney can complement eachother in England's attack.
Sturridge is confident their pairing can offer sufficient ingenuity.
"It's important to mix it up," he said. "When I was younger I used to wear 10 but I liked playing as a nine so it was kind of weird.
"I liked to watch players who dropped deep and picked the ball up like Thierry Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo - those are the type who I watched when I was younger. It's something I naturally do. I wasn't really aware I did it but the manager says I go long and short and I like to mix my game up."
