Daniel Sturridge has been withdrawn from the England squad for Friday's World Cup qualifier against Moldova.
The Liverpool ace, who has netted five goals in four outings in all competitions so far this season, is battling a thigh injury and is out of Friday's clash at Wembley.
He posted on Twitter:
Gutted to be out the England match!! Hopefully I will be fit soon... #justmyluck— Daniel Sturridge (@D_Sturridge) September 5, 2013
England boss Roy Hodgson is hoping Sturridge will be back for the trip to Kiev to take on Ukraine on Tuesday.
"He reports back on Saturday evening; Sunday morning we have a training session before we leave for the Ukraine and, if he passes it, he'll be with us. If he doesn't he'll be staying with Liverpool," he said.
