Jamie Redknapp believes Daniel Sturridge is in the top echelon of strikers in the English game.
The 26-year-old injury-prone Liverpool star often shows glimpses of what he is capable of before time and time again being cut down by various leg issues but Redknapp feels he has the attributes to be one of the Premier League's best if he can stay fit.
Ahead of Wednesday night's Capital One Cup quarter-final against Southampton, in which Sturridge went on to score twice in the 6-1 romp, Redknapp told Sky Sports: "He's still only 26 years of age and he's the sort of player that can do magical things on the pitch, he's a special footballer, there aren't many like him.
"He's already played for Manchester City and Chelsea… I don't see anywhere else he could go. He's got to get his head down and get himself fit.
"I think he's been extremely unlucky and he will be hoping and praying that Jurgen Klopp can find the right way of keeping him fit, because, as I've said before, only (Sergio) Aguero is better than him in the Premier League."
