Liverpool ace Salah already the go-to man for World Cup stars - Cavani

Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah is becoming the go-to man for opposition players at the World Cup.

Salah was left disappointed after watching from the bench as Egypt conceded an 89th minute goal to lose the Group A clash 1-0 to Uruguay.

PSG striker Edinson Cavani, speaking after Jose Gimenez's strike gave his side all three points, says a draw would have "left a bitter taste", but he was pleased with the final score - and managed to pick up Salah's shirt as a souvenir.

“I took Salah's shirt as a gift for my children, who also see him as a star," Cavani told reporters after the game.

“A draw would have left a bitter taste because Uruguay deserved to win. We created a lot of chances, maybe without playing so well, but the Egypt goalkeeper [had a great game] and in a moment we all fell into the feeling that the ball did not want to enter [the net].

“We won and that is what matters. We are happy although we know that we have things to improve. Now we have to rest and think on Wednesday."
