Sadio Mane was on target as Senegal opened their 2017 African Cup of Nations campaign with a win.
The Liverpool winger converted a 10th-minute penalty to give Senegal the lead as they went on to beat Tunisia 2-0 in their opening Group B fixture in Franceville, Gabon.
The Lions of Teranga doubled their lead through Anderlecht's Kara Mbodji on 30 minutes to kick off the tournament in winning style.
Senegal will next meet Zimbabwe, who drew 2-2 with Algeria, in their second fixture on January 19.
