England captain Steven Gerrard is supremely confident that he and Frank Lampard can form a positive relationship in the centre of midfield for their country.
For years it has been suggested that the Liverpool star and Chelsea great have been unable to jell in midfield for the Three Lions but Gerrard does not agree with those sentiments as they continue to prepare for next month's World Cup.
"Gerrard and Lampard, is no-one bored of that one yet?" he said at a press conference.
"I agree with Roy (Hodgson) and I have said it many times on record that good players can play together and good players need to be able to adapt and take on a manager's tactics.
"We don't want a team of individuals who want do it alone. The only way we are going to be successful as a team is if the combinations as a team work and we take on the manager's tactics."
