Liverpool academy coach Steven Gerrard is set to join the England setup.
The Daily Mail says Gerrard is expected to work with England age groups teams as a mentor for young players and shadowing the team managers as he continues his transition into coaching, rather than take on a role with the England senior team.
Gareth Southgate announces his squad for World Cup qualifier against Lithuania and a friendly match against Germany this week, with Ross Barkley in the frame for a recall after being dropped for the autumn squads.
But Southgate is not ready to expand his coaching team yet with Chelsea assistant Steve Holland and goalkeeping coach Martyn Margetson being the core team for next two games.
The initial plan for former England internationals, such as Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Phil Neville, who have a wealth of playing experience and, in Neville's case, coaching experience, is to ask them to work alongside Under 16, Under 18 and Under 20 teams.
