Liverpool academy chief John Owens says the club can be proud to have three locals in England's World Cup squad.
Reds pair Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher are in Fabio Capello's squad, along with Aston Villa fullback Stephen Warnock.
Owens told liverpoolfc.tv: "It's good to see, a proud moment for us.
"I always believe it's the players that do it for themselves. We've simply helped and it's been our privilege to do that.
"It's not us who have made them into international players.
"But, yes, it's nice for us to see three players who've gone through the development process with us some 15 or so years ago who are still at this level with England at a World Cup."
