LIVE FROM ST. PETERSBURG: Costa Rica manager Ramirez proud despite Brazil loss

Costa Rica manager Oscar Ramirez says his team achieved their goal of minimising Brazil for 91 minutes.

Tite's side then scored twice in injury-time through Philippe Coutinho and Neymar to sink the resilient Costa Ricans.

"We wanted to minimise the strength of Brazil and we achieved it for 91 minutes," said Ramirez.

"Now we have the game against Switzerland. We have to make the best possible presentation against them. It is a matter of honor and country. We came here to do our best and against Switzerland we have to go out and win.

"If we had a strategic plan, we wanted to control them; and it came out, but we only got it until the 91st minute. Do not forget that we played against the second best team in the world. We knew how good they are and that in the second part they would create problems for us. They changed and complicated things."
