Little Lupa Castelli make public approach to Liverpool striker Balotelli

Lega Pro side Lupa Castelli have made an approach to Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.

Balotelli's former Milan teammate Marco Amelia is the honorary president of the minnows.

“Our desire is to bring a friend here, a player who at this moment needs to purify himself, because we can see that nobody wants him anymore, the fans are against him and he can no longer show who he is," Amelia told Sky Sport Italia.

“For him it could be the first step towards that purification. By taking two steps back, he could show to everyone what he's really made of.

“I will try to call Balotelli, because it'll be difficult for him to play at Liverpool. How will we manage it economically? We'll see.

“I think at this moment Mario needs to rediscover the hunger he once had. It'll be tough, some say impossible and certainly unheard of in football, but it could do him good.

“The training centre of Lupa Castelli is in Rome, so we are focusing on the city."
