Lionel Messi is now the best paid player at Barcelona.

El Mundo Deportivo says Barca secured Messi to an improved deal three months ago, though have not officially confirmed the new agreement.

It's the fourth contract Messi has signed since turning pro, with his buyout clause remaining at £110 million, which was confirmed by Barca finance chief Joan Boix on local radio yesterday.
