Jesse Lingard has talked up Manchester United's long-term pursuit of Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann.

The France international came close to joining United last month, before committing to a new deal with Atletico.

However, Griezmann's contract still retains it's original €100m buyout clause, which suggests the attacker remains hopeful of eventually moving to United next year.

Lingard, meanwhile, declared: "The player I'd like to see in Manchester United next season? Antoine Griezmann.

"I hope it will happen."
