Tottenham and Everton legend Gary Lineker says Manchester United will suffer in the absence of crocked winger Antonio Valencia.
In his column for the News of the World, Lineker opined: "I know what Wayne Rooney means when he said he'd rather play with Valencia than Cristiano Ronaldo.
"As a striker you want a winger who gets the ball and just drops it into the danger area. Valencia did that for Rooney last season.
"The season before Rooney didn't know what the hell Ronaldo was going to do, cross it first time or beat another man, drop another shoulder or wiggle another hip. Therefore he didn't know what kind of run to make.
"Without Valencia, United have lost a serious attacking option and one who looks after Rooney - something they certainly need."
