Lindpere urges NYRB to tighten up defence

New York Red Bulls midfielder Joel Lindpere says he is not enjoying playing at the moment as the team continues to concede goals.

The Red Bulls were held to a 1-1 draw by Chicago Fire after taking the lead early on the weekend after conceding four to Seattle Sounders and three to Portland Timbers in the matches prior.

Lindpere said it was the fact that these goals were going in so easily made life very tough for him and his teammates.

"Game day should be like a party," he said. "I want to have fun. I play; I want to smile on the field. It's not fun anymore.

"I am going to look at myself. I hope my teammates look at themselves too so we play more as a team. We just need to do a better job.

"But it's not enough. Everyone on our team needs to think about what we should do and how we should play better.

"I think everyone understands now that we cannot go on like this. We score one, but we give goals back. They get very stupid, easy goals against us, and then we fight to get the goals back. Then we do something stupid again."
