Aalesunds goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard is one of several keeper targets that remain under consideration at Manchester United. The Manchester Evening News says also on the list are Schalke's German international, Manuel Neuer, Lyon's Hugo Lloris, Sebastien Frey of Fiorentina and Atletico Madrid's David de Gea.

Holland No1, Maarten Stekelenburg, is another possibility, but Lindegaard is fast emerging as Sir Alex Ferguson's first choice.

He knows he is fast running out of time to find a long-term replacement for Edwin van der Sar, who turns 40 at the end of the month and is not expected to sign a new deal at the end of the season.
